Leachates are effluents produced by the combined action of rain and the fermentation of waste in the landfill. Highly charged with organic pollutants, nitrogen, metals and salts, leachates represent an environmental hazard and must be collected and treated accordingly. This technique makes it possible to treat these complex, concentrated effluents using a high-performance, cost-effective process.

BRM is a leachate treatment process that combines an intensive treatment stage, separation by ultrafiltration membranes and a finishing treatment (activated carbon, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis….). Membrane filtration considerably increases the concentration of bacteria in the biological stage, thus limiting reaction volumes and the plant’s footprint.
